Genting Green Generation (G3) Sorting Activity
October 2023 – GENM’s Genting Green Generation (G3) Programme recently organized a Sorting Activity as part of our commitment to uplifting communities and sustainability. With 20 G3 volunteers inspecting and sorting items, the volunteers also took a responsible approach to those that did not meet the donation criteria. We packed and labelled 50 kilograms of recyclables, sending them to a textile recycling facility, aligning with our dedication to minimizing waste and promoting sustainability.

The activity was also an educational platform, raising employee awareness about quality donations and diverting wastes from landfills. GENM Supports Bentong Prison Inmates Rehabilitation Programme
7 January 2023 – GENM has been supporting Bentong Prison’s rehabilitation and Human Development Programmes indirectly since 2013.
One of the recent initiatives that GENM supported was its contribution through the purchase of the Asam Pedas and Rendang Betawi pastes inspired by Raja Permaisuri Agong’s cookbook - Air Tangan Tengku Ampuan Pahang. The preparation of the pastes involved five Bentong prison staff and more than 30 inmates.
MyPride under the Malaysian Prison Department sells the pastes and the proceeds go towards human development programmes for inmates. The programmes equip the inmates with various life skills in order for them to assimilate into society and live a normal life after their sentences are served. As part of GENM’s community programme, the 500 pastes purchased will be distributed to selected single mothers in Bentong.
Resorts World Genting chefs were instrumental in turning the recipes for Asam Pedas and Rendang Betawi into pastes, as well as providing packaging and lab testing advice to Bentong Prison during the early stages of the commercialisation of the two pastes.
